  1. LPGA Amateur Championship
  2. California Cup
  3. LPGA Amateur Cup 

ABOUT 2019 CHAPTER / SEMI-FINAL / LPGA AMATEURS CHAMPIONSHIP

LPGA AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP

Stages:
  • The first stage is the LPGA Amateur Chapter Championship, an 18-hole local qualifying round held at each Chapter location. For the San Diego chapter,  it will be at the Sycuan Golf Resort, El Cajon, CA on April 27, 2019.
  • The second stage is the District Semi-finals, an 18-hole round held this year at the Sycuan Golf Resort - Willow Glen, El Cajon, CA on June 15, 2019.
  • The last stage is the LPGA Amateurs Championship Finals, a two-day, 36 hole event held at the Westin Mission Hills Golf Resort, Rancho Mirage, CA on Oct 11-12, 2019.

The LPGA Amateur Championship offers two different competitive formats: Stroke Play Competition and Inter-Chapter Team Scramble Competition. You select the competitive format that best fits your game, personality and skill level.

STROKE PLAY COMPETITION

Stroke play competitors play in one of five flights at the Chapter Championship qualifying event based upon their USGA Handicap Index.

Championship 0.0 to 10.0
First 10.1 to 17.0
Second 17.1 to 24.0
Third 24.1 to 32.0
Fourth 32.1 to 40.4

 

TEAM SCRAMBLE

Chapter scramble teams consist of four (4) women who meet the eligibility requirements to play in the LPGA Amateurs Championship.  The team “handicap factor” is established based on the USGA Handicap Index of all four players.

The Team Computation Factor must fall in the range of +2 and -5 at time of Chapter Championship registration.  Teams with a Team Handicap that is great than +2 will not be eligible to complete.  Teams with a Team Handicap less than -5 may compete but the Team Handicap must remain at -5.  Only one member of the team shall have a handicap index of 12.0 or less as of the handicap cut-off date for the Chapter Championship.


TO QUALIFY, LPGA AMATEURS MEMBERS MUST:

• Follow the registration guidelines distributed by your local Chapter

• Be a female, LPGA Amateur Golf Association member in good standing*

• Have a verifiable USGA Handicap Index and have an equivalent of two 18-hole scores posted to your handicap record in the current year, prior to the handicap cut-off date for their respective Chapter Championship

• Be an amateur golfer as defined by USGA Rules of Amateur Status

ABOUT 2019 CALIFORNIA CUP

CALIFORNIA CUP

The 13th Annual California Cup Match Play event will be held the weekend of May 3rd – 5th , 2019 at Haggin Oaks Golf Complex in Sacramento, CA. The format is match play. Each Chapter to field a 12-woman team. Each team member is required to play in both the team and individual rounds. Each team member is required to play both competitive rounds. On Saturday morning, the Foursomes (Alternate Shot) and Four Ball (Team Best Ball) formats will be played. On Sunday morning, all matches will be Singles. Each match, on both days, will be valued at one (1) point. The winner of a match will gain one (1) point for their respective Chapter. If the match ends in a draw, each Chapter will earn ½ point. The California Cup will be awarded to the Chapter that earns the most match points. A tie will be settled by quality of wins.

The San Diego Chapter is using qualifier events to field the 2019 California Cup event. The first qualifier event will be held December 16, 2018 at the Vineyard Golf Club from 10am to 3pm. ABOUT 2019 LPGA AMATEUR CUP QUALIFIER / NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP

LPGA AMATEUR CUP

The LPGA Amateur Cup is an amateur match play competition conducted under the direction of the LPGA Amateur Golf Association Headquarters. Competition is conducted in two stages of play:

  • Cup Qualifier– 18 holes of Four-Ball* and 18 holes of Singles** completed over 2 days to determine the teams that will advance to The Cup Finals. Qualifiers will be heldat the Redhawk Golf Club, Sparks, NV on Sept 28-19, 2019.
  • The Cup Finals– 18 holes of Four-Ball* and 18 holes Singles** completed over 2 days to be held at Reunion Resort, Orlando FL on Nov 1-2, 2019.

The 2019 San Diego team(s) will be fielded by members who participate in the San Diego Chapter Cup Qualifiers and that would like to assemble a team of 8.  If you would like to captain a team and don’t have 8 players, please contact Susan Crawford at scrawf@outlook.com and she will assist you.
